Specialised lipedema treatment

Integrated lipedema treatment

Advanced medical care for lipedema: specialised diagnosis, conservative treatment, lymph-preserving surgery, several medical technologies and premium recovery with medical follow-up, within our AC Method.

Conservative lipedema treatment

Lipedema calls for ongoing medical care

Lipedema (spelled lipoedema in the UK) is a chronic, progressive condition. There is no definitive cure, but there is a clear path to improve symptoms, reduce volume, manage inflammation and regain quality of life.

Conservative treatment is an essential part of the process. It can help manage pain, heaviness, oedema and inflammation, and it is especially important before and after lipedema surgery, within the AC Method.

Anti-inflammatory nutrition

The aim is not simply to lose weight, but to reduce systemic inflammation and support the patient with guidance adapted to her clinical situation.

Compression garments

Compression helps to manage fluid build-up, heaviness and the risk of progression to more complex conditions.

Manual lymphatic drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage can ease swelling, pain and the feeling of congestion in the affected tissue.

Exercise and lipedema

Exercise: the kind you can keep up over time

Exercise adapts to each patient. It is not limited to low impact: the key is to choose an activity you enjoy and can sustain. As a general guide, at least 3 days a week, 30 minutes.

Low-impact exercise

Walking, swimming, pilates or yoga are recommended above all when there is pain, limited mobility, joint problems or obesity, to support mobility and drainage without overloading the tissues.

Strength and high intensity (HIIT)

In many patients, strength training or high-intensity work (HIIT) can also be incorporated, provided it is tolerated and under medical guidance. Limiting the recommendation to low impact alone is no longer the general advice.

Medical technology

Several medical technologies, one personalised approach

We do not work with a single machine. We have different medical technologies for diagnosis, surgery and recovery, and we select the most suitable combination for each patient's clinical case.

RFAL / Renuvion®

Helium plasma-assisted radiofrequency aimed at supporting skin retraction. The degree of improvement depends on the indication, skin quality and clinical context. See Renuvion®.

PAL / Microaire

Vibration-assisted liposuction, one of the techniques we use most to work precisely on large areas or denser tissue. See PAL liposuction.

WAL / BodyJet

Water-assisted liposuction, available within our range of techniques. See WAL liposuction.

LED photobiomodulation

LED photobiomodulation aimed at supporting tissue recovery, healing and the control of inflammation.

Cold compression therapy

Chilled pneumatic compression aimed at comfort, circulation and early reduction of swelling.

Bodygee 3D scanner

3D body mapping for assessment, surgical planning and follow-up of the contour's evolution.

Lipedema surgery

Lipedema surgery with lymphatic preservation

Specialised surgery is the most effective way to permanently remove lipedema fat tissue, without replacing the chronic management of the condition. It should not be confused with conventional cosmetic liposuction: it requires specific knowledge of the disease, of lymphatic anatomy and planning by area.

We combine different extraction and remodelling techniques (PAL, WAL, UAL by ultrasound and RFAL/Renuvion®) for each patient, with our FLACS technique for full legs and the AC lymph-preserving protocols.

Lipedema post-surgery care

Premium recovery after surgery

Recovery is a decisive phase. The Advanced Care recovery protocol includes medical supervision, compression, lymphatic drainage, recovery technology and follow-up during the first year.

LED blanket (photobiomodulation)

Aimed at supporting tissue recovery, healing and the control of inflammation.

Cold compression therapy

Chilled pneumatic compression to support comfort, circulation and early reduction of swelling.

Manual lymphatic drainage

Referral to specialised physiotherapy to support drainage and ease discomfort during recovery.

Follow-up during the first year

Wound care, reviews, photographic monitoring and progress tracking by the medical team.

Diagnosis and support

From diagnosis to a personalised plan

Good treatment starts with a correct diagnosis. If you have doubts, you can begin by learning what lipedema is, its symptoms and its stages, or take our lipedema test.

The impact of lipedema goes beyond volume or physical pain: late diagnosis and the emotional burden make close support advisable throughout the whole process.

Personalised assessment

We analyse symptoms, affected areas, stage, medical history and realistic expectations, supported by specialised diagnosis.

Individual treatment plan

We combine conservative treatment, surgery, technology and recovery for each case, within the AC Method.

1Your details

2Lipedema test

1. Do you feel heaviness or have swollen legs?
2. Does your body not respond to diets (you lose volume in the face, torso and chest, but the loss in legs or arms is minimal)?
3. Do you tend to bruise easily (bruises appear often on the legs with no known cause or from minor knocks)?
4. Is there no response to physical exercise (the loss in legs or arms is minimal)?
5. Do you feel pain on palpation (when someone leans on your legs or grips your arm)?
6. Is there a clear DISPROPORTION between legs or arms (with much more fatty volume) and the trunk?
7. Are your hands and feet unaffected (no fat build-up in them)?
8. Is the fat in your legs or arms hard and nodular (firmer than abdominal fat)?
9. Do you feel spontaneous pain (pain in arms or legs even at rest)?

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about lipedema treatment

Can lipedema be cured?

Lipedema is a chronic condition: there is no definitive cure. Treatment (conservative and surgical) aims to improve symptoms, reduce volume, manage inflammation and improve quality of life, with management sustained over time.

What does conservative treatment include?

Anti-inflammatory nutrition, compression garments, manual lymphatic drainage and adapted exercise. It is an essential part of the process and especially important before and after surgery.

What is the best exercise with lipedema?

The one you can keep up over time. Low impact (walking, swimming, pilates, yoga) is recommended above all with pain, limited mobility or joint problems, but strength or HIIT can also be incorporated if tolerated, under medical guidance. As a guide, at least 3 days a week, 30 minutes.

Which technologies do you use?

RFAL/Renuvion®, PAL/Microaire, WAL/BodyJet, photobiomodulation, cold compression therapy and the Bodygee 3D scanner. We are not limited to a single one: we select the most suitable combination for each case.

When is surgery recommended?

Specialised surgery is the most effective way to durably reduce lipedema fat tissue when the case calls for it, without replacing the chronic management of the condition. The decision is made after an individualised medical assessment, within the integrated treatment.
